Measuring Males

If you ever need to take measurements on a male, almost everything can be done on the chart the same as a female with a few exceptions.  Males do not need their bust points notated, so you can eliminate measurements #2 and #4.

They often have hard to define waistlines, and when you do find them, they usually tilt forward, as opposed to women, whose waistlines are normally parallel to the ground.  Because of this, I like to mark two different waistlines with elastic bands.  One at the natural waist, which will feel much higher than the guy is used to (but when it turns out to be a smaller measurement he won't mind), and the other at the point that he wears his pants.

Use the upper band to notate the back length and the shoulder to waist measurment.

Notate how much lower the second band is from the upper, taken on the side.

Use the lower band to notate the slacks, hip point, waist to knee, and crotch measurement.
